Aram Bagh Club wins Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Girls Basketball

LAHORE – The Aram Bagh Club won the title of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed DMC South Cup Girls Basketball Tournament 2021 which took place at the Abdul Nasser Aram Bagh International Basketball Court, Karachi.

The event was organized in association with DMC South under Usman Basketball Club. In the final, the Aram Bagh Club beat Bahria College Basketball Club by 32-28. All the players of the winning club contributed well and guided their team to the title triumph. Among the finalists, Shizal Saleem (8), Ayman Shahid (7) and Laiba Saeed (5) played well. Ashraf Yahya, Zahid Malik and Amir Sharif officiated the match while the technical officials were Nusrat Afzal, Anila Khadim Hussain, Nasreen Akhtar and Farah Riaz.

During the awards ceremony, special guest of honor, sports patron, Shahida Parveen Kayani, handed out prizes and trophies to the winners, finalists and top performers. KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Kashmiri leader Ghulam Abbas Jamal Advocate, tournament organizer Zaima Khatun and others were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Shahida Parveen paid tribute to First Woman Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed (late) for her political and national services with glorious words. She asked the players to make Benazir Bhutto their role model and try to follow his great national service and his politics. Paying tribute to female athletes for their excellent sportsmanship, Shahida Parveen said: “The girls have proven to have great talent in sports and education. They must come forward in large numbers to work alongside men and play a key role in the country’s progress by leaps and bounds. “
